Five (5) things a child wish to do to his mom but can’t due to awkwardness

Spend a simple yet a precious moment with mom without any interruption. Nowadays, most moms are becoming busier just like our dads. Instead of spending time at home with their kids they will just choose to work as their husband does. A simple reason behind this is to earn living and provide basic necessities for their kids – a wonderful reason of each working mom, but sometimes less regarded. However, kids might feel happy and enjoy with the provisions of luxury in life that their parents provide them, but probably most kids will agree that these things will never compensate their longing for a precious moment with their mom without any interruption. Kids tend to divert their emotion into things that might entertain them and let them forget the sad feeling of being a kid without a mom around because she’s working or a mom is coming home, but too tired to give her kids a precious moment that sometimes even a single “Hi” and “Hello” seems to be an additional difficult task to do.

Give mom a hug when she’s nagging and already pissed off. A nagging mom is probably as usual as taking breakfast or going to work or school every day. It’s like a normal attribute of a mom – a nagging mom. But a kid listening to his mom reciting the litany of saints and ignores its negativity, instead thinking to give her a powerful hug is something unusual and definitely magnificent. Most kids have the tendency to hear-nothing and see-nothing when their mom starts to nag. But in some cases, kids want their mom to stop talking not because it’s too ear-breaking, but because they want their mom to find peace of mind and great comfort despite all her worries. We want to hug them to stop them from talking too much that could bring their blood pressure to its all time high – we don’t want that to happen and we will never wish that. Of course, we love our Moms no matter how speed their mouths are when they nag, no matter how sick it is to hear their constant litany and sermon, all we want is to LOVE them back the way they do.

Kiss them without any reason - an out of nowhere kiss. Our mom should be the most valued, the most important and the most precious woman for us boys and for girls your moms should be the best among your best friends. When your mom is watching TV, preparing the family’s dinner, cleaning the soiled dishes, or even in her idle time try to show her how grateful we are that this wrinkled mom because of her workloads, this noisy mom, and this extra-stubborn mom is our mom – mom that God chose to take care of us more than herself. Giving your mom an expensive bag or make-up kit will probably put a smile on her face, but giving them a gentle and sincere kiss will remind them the very essence of their motherhood and this will make them even proud of themselves and happier knowing that they properly nurture her kids with tender and motherly care – the very simple purpose of every mom.

Say “Mom/Mama I Love You” directly in her face with an eye contact. Every mom is a loving mom. No one will ever dare to change this fact. Every life in this world came from the very womb of a caring and loving mother. Every mom has a unique way of carrying and nurturing their kids from the time they found out their pregnancy until giving birth but it all boils down to the very of essence of motherhood – the love of every mother to her children will never stop and nothing and no one can alter that fact. With that said, although moms are not asking for anything in return to pay their unconditional love, kids must make their mom feel secure with their love. Kids shall give the same amount of love to their mom that is expressible in a simplest way by saying “Mom/Mama I Love You” directly in her face with an eye contact”. By doing this, your mom is not merely getting your repay of love but she’s getting the most of the love that this world can offer – truly a priceless one, for every mother is entitled for the love that is incomparable.

Say “Thank You Mama” then give her a powerful kiss on cheek or forehead. They say that action is louder than words, but for me words plus action is the loudest. No mother in this world will tell us that their effort of bringing us in this world should be acknowledged and recognized and somehow regarded well. But truly we should. Although it’s not required or a statutory thing, but it’s a constitutive part of our being as kids, it’s a grateful attitude and a humble disposition towards our moms. Saying “Thank You Mom/Mama” with full sincerity will be the best expression of our gratefulness to our mom. And, giving them a powerful kiss on cheek/forehead will be the best expression of our incomparable love to them. It may sound cheesy, but truly it is the very candid thing that we can ever do to our great moms.  

These things are truly wonderful things that every kid might wish to do to our moms. That is if we truly willing to do it and men it. But sometimes we tend to fail to do this – it’s something awkward for us, we don’t used to it. It’s something cheesy or melodramatic. Probably that’s how this new generation perceives it but in reality it might seems sensational, but it is truly a wonderful deed that every kid should do - give your mom a powerful hug, kiss, gratefulness and LOVE.

Ama, Alam ko pong batid mo kung nasaan na ako ngayon, Kung anong ginagawa ko, Kung masaya ba ako, Kung lumalago ba ako at higit sa lahat kung nagkakaroon ba ng kahulugan ang buhay Ko!

Ama, wala akong kakayahang husgahan ang kinabukasan, Wala rin akong karapatang sisihin ang nakaraan. Ang kaya ko lang ay iguhit ang kasalukuyan at maging masaya sa ano mang obra na pwede nitong kalabasan. 

Hipuin mo ang aking mga kamay upang makaguhit ako ng isang makabuluhang kasalukuyan

Biyayaan mo ako ng kakayang alamin ang mga bagay na tunay na magbibigay kahulugan sa aking buhay habang patuloy kong itinataas sa iyong mga kamay ang aking kahapon at maging ang aking hinaharap.

Ituro mo sakin ang daan patungo sa makabuluhang paglalakbay, na kahit malubak at mahirap ay pipiliin kong magpasalamat, imbes na magreklamo. 

Panginoon, tunay na biyaya mo ang bawat araw, totoong ang pagmamahal mo sa bawat nilalang ang dahilan kung bakit sumisikat ang araw at patuloy na nagkakaroon ng umaga.

Salamat po Ama. Nawa’y aming buong maghapon ay maialay namin sa iyong harapan ng may buong pagpapakumbaba.

Choose what makes you happy, NOT what best for many!

People are now very much overwhelmed with the so called “in-demand” courses, especially students. They tend to consider “in-demand” courses as the “best”. Why shouldn't they? They will have local and international opportunities; they will be paid high salary, and less chance to be unemployed. That’s what they've thought!

If you ask a typical Filipino student if he/she wants to work abroad, he/she will immediately give you a powerful smile and nod, signifies that he/she really want to work abroad. Why not? Working abroad is like the key to the better future, it’s like making all your unimaginable dreams possible to achieve or it’s simply your escape to emptiness and a welcome to abundance.

There’s no argument with the perseverance of every Filipino to uplift their lives. Who doesn't want to? But every time labor authorities set an “in-demand” status for a certain course/career, it will immediately generate high enrollees and high in manpower supply, which could lead to a big trouble. As the demand decreases, the manpower supplies increase, which is now one of the big reasons of ballooning unemployment rate in the country. In addition to that, “in-demand” status can also create a wrong notion even to the education providers (institution, colleges and universities). They thought that since a certain course/career is in-demand, qualifications can be set aside. For example, for HRM (Hotel and Restaurant Management), schools are not strict when it comes to the qualifications that the enrollees must have to ensure that an appropriate career is realistic to achieve them. Although HRM as course has numerous field to choose from such as; Food & Beverages (F&B) Attendant – for those people who love to provide customer service though serving food and beverages, Bartender – for those people who love to mix alcoholic drinks, Chef or Cook – for those people who love to cook/bake, Hotel Staffs (Front Office Agent, Guest Service Officer) – For those people who are willing to offer customer service through (Guest Service / Guest Relation). Assist guest upon check in/out., Housekeeper (HK) – chambermaid, Manager (F&B,HK,) – willing to manage a certain restaurant or any related establishment.

An HRM can be considered as one of the lightest 4-year career in the Philippines, but it requires some demanding qualifications that sometimes many tend to forget or sometimes ignore the fact that these qualifications are REALLY necessary, like applicant must have an ideal height (at least 5’7 for male/ 5’4 female), above average looks for hotel staff, and some other demanding qualifications.

In addition, Course/Job Mismatch is the other reason why unemployment rate is severely increasing in the country. Government and other labor agencies have no sufficient program that could address or even alleviate the “job mismatch” rate. That’s why the ballooning and ever increasing rate of unemployment in the country is not that surprising anymore.

On the other hand, the government alone cannot be held accountable for this issue; it is also us – who can make something wonderful to lessen the unemployment rate in the country. As a learner from the past experience, I myself would like to be of help to those senior high school graduates to “Choose what will make them happy, NOT what best considered by many!” Perhaps, this is the great advice that I could provide them.

Not all “in-demand” today is still in-demand tomorrow. Not all considered best by many is also best for you. Learn to recognize your heart’s desire, otherwise you’ll be working with regret and you’ll do your work unhappily – an experience that you would wish not to encounter.

If you’re just graduated last March or April and still undecided on the course that you really want to pursue with. Please! Take time to think, meditate and pray. Ask yourself as many times as you can. Know your capacity, know what particular field you are best of and know what you really love to do. This will really help you. Believe me! Taking course in college is not as simple as ABC, it’s going to be a tough decision making, so make sure you got it right, otherwise you will be remorseful at the end of the day. Although, you can still shift or you can still change your mind at the middle. But remember time is gold, time is running and it is truly precious. Once you missed something you’ll miss it for the rest of your life.

This is the lesson in life that I really take as mine. I really do! Because I’ve been there and still on the process of shifting - every necessary thing that has to be shifted and changed. A management graduate who failed to take time to think, meditate and pray for the career that I really want to have. This was not an act of ignorance or stupidity; maybe I was just so immature to handle decision making effectively, I attached on the idea of “in-demand” and “Best” as other call it. Now, I’m a full time virtual writer in one American - company based in Laguna. Am I happy? Yes! I love this. I love to write rather than to be a food service provider.

With that said, I hope this will serve an anticipated call for you to Choose what makes you happy, NOT what best for many!

Eleksyon Na Naman!

Panahon na naman ng suyuan, ligawan, utuan, lokohan, kaplastikan at pagsasamantala sa kahinaan ng aba.

Wala na bang iba? Wala na bang bago? Bulok na sistema patuloy pa ring nakahain sa mesa?!

Ilang dekada nang kalakaran, maruming labanan. Nasasabi ko yan dahil talamak yan sa aming bayan! Hindi ako nanghuhusga, mulat lang ang aking mga mata sa aking mga nakikita. Ngunit ang boses ko’y ubod ng hina para marinig, habang may busal ang aking bibig. Maraming gustong tumutol pero pinipiling tumahimik dahil sa oras na sila’y tumutol ang huling hihigaan nila’y ataul.

Maraming may kakayanang baguhin ang maling kalakaran at itapon ang bulok na sistema. Ngunit mas pinipiling manahimik at makiisa sa maling sistema alang-alang sa pera. 

Hindi nakakapagtakang maraming pilipino ang hindi bumoboto. Bakit kamo? Ano namang aasahan mo sa gobyero? Wala ngang kurakot, wala din namang progreso! May progreso nga, ilang porsyento lang naman ng mamamayan ang nakararamdam ng tinatawag nilang serbisyo PUBLIKO. 

Walang may nasi maghugas kamay o magbigay ng negatibong kritisismo, kung sana lang ang mga kandidatong nangangako ng progreso ay totoo. At ang mga nagsasabing para sa mahirap ay totoong ngang tutulong sa mahihirap hindi lalong magpapahirap. 

“Ang totoong serbisyo “publiko” ay siyang naglilingkod sa mga ito, hindi sya ang nagsisilbing hari at taga-utos sa mga taong dahilan kung bakit sya nasa kanyang luklukan bilang pinakamataas na may katungkulan sa lipunan.”

Ngayon ko lang mahusay na napagtanto na masarap pala talaga sa pakiramdam na may humahanga sayo isa iba’t ibang paraan at aspeto no? Kaya pala marami ang nagnanais na magartista o di kaya maging sikat dahil sa naiibang ligaya at kakaibang pagkakuntento pag alam mong may nakakapansin at nagpapahalaga sa kaya mong gawin at sa existence mo sa mundo. Ang malupit pa dun nagiging instant look-a-like tayo ng mga taong may magagandang mukha. Nakakatuwa. nakakamangha. nakaka-flattered at nakaka-proud. Sana lang too much overwhelming won’t lead to death - ung tipong sa sobrang pagkaproud e kala nya nakalutang sya at di na pwedeng sumayad sa lupa ang kanyang mga paa.

You are the most generous provider of every human need

You are the GREAT and HOLY Lord for me, for them and for ALL
